PLAYER REGISTRATION

Club subscription fees (subs) need to be paid each year in order for you to play for Kew FC. We offer discounts to reduce fees for those who sign up early, as well as lower subscription fees for students and apprentices.

To play for Kew Football Club, you also need to register with the VAFA. Your coaches or team manager will provide you with the registration link to complete your registration when it becomes available for the upcoming season. If you need to transfer from another club, you need to speak with a member of our committee or with your team manager before your first game so we can organise the transfer.

Code of conduct

As a player at Kew Football Club you are responsible for making sure that you abide by the VAFA’s policies. This includes the following VAFA policies:

  • Player Code of Conduct
  • Social Media and Digital Communication Policy
  • Gambling Policy
  • Spectator Code of Conduct.

You can find the details for all the policies on the VAFA website.

Insurance

From time to time incidents may occur in football, and when that happens our club is here to support you. Kew Football Club has insurance for our players with Marsh insurance, which allows players injured in a sanctioned activity/event to have some of your non-Medicare medical costs for your injury covered by this insurance.

If you are injured during a game or training session and are looking at putting in an insurance claim, you can follow these steps:

  1. Email contact@kewfc.com to notify us about your injury and that you will submit a claim. We can help you with the documents you need to submit to the insurance provider, and this also helps us to keep track of insurance claims.
  2. Look at the information about making a claim under the ‘AFL’ section on the Marsh Insurance website. There are a few forms that need to be completed to submit an insurance claim. These include:
    • a Personal injury claim form
    • a Club declaration form that must be signed by a club representative (e.g. a committee member or coach)
    • a Physician declaration form that must be completed by the physician treating your injury
  3. Make sure all your forms are fully completed before submitting your claim — for your claim to be considered it must be submitted in full within 270 days from the date of your injury. Once your claim is submitted, you will receive confirmation of the submission from the insurance provider and a claim number which you can use if you need to submit any further costs for your injury.

If you have any questions or need further assistance to make an insurance claim, you can email contact@kewfc.com
